I thought transvestites were straight or gay men that wear female clothes. In other words a kink, rather than an actual part of a person's sexuality.

Now that I think of it, it has to be hard for women to be transvestites because clothes that were once exclusively worn by men are now worn by both men and women.

I think transvestite women go a bit further - rather than just wearing trousers, which are nowadays in women's cuts and styles, they'll wear actual male clothing. Full suits, etc. I've seen a few drag kings who go to the extent of strapping down breasts, stuffing the crotch and even wearing facial hair.
