Problem being, Liefeld's name on the book is likely preventing many folk from buying it and seeing the interior art.

Actually I compared the issue 9s (Liefeld's starting point) with the issue eights on ICv2. Grifter and Hawkman sold an extra thousand copies, Deathstroke sold 4000. Of course, that's not saying much since Deathstroke was the highest at 20k.

Personally, I find Liefeld to be pretty sad these days. If you've seen his twitter, he loves to go on about his old glory days when he sold millions. When people point out the deadline issues, he loves to point out doing Deadpool Corps for nine issues straight, even though issue six had a filler artist. Point out that his new comics don't sell (Hawk and Dove only made 22k a month. His last creator-owned project with Kirkman barely made 7k before it was cancelled) and he'll remind us of how big he was back in the day.

I think one of the worst things that could have happened to him was Mark Millar wanting him to come out of retirement. But it seems like the ego he got from breaking records at 21 refuses to let him see the truth that he is nowhere near as popular and influential as he used to be.

I will admit to buying some of his books when he was a hot artist. but, i gradually saw past the hype and realized how horrible his art and writing were/are.

So no, anything with his taint on it is an insta-pass for me.

The true crime? Liefeld is on more books than Gail.
