Didn't the Rawhide Kid series actually not have a gay romance, but just talk with a lot of innuendo? Alan Scott's already well ahead since he's actually gotten a boyfriend (Who better still be alive if DC knows what's good for it).
sheesh.. a whole week on it!
(yet not a peep about the Northstar wedding?).

Life is like a roller coaster. It has its ups and downs, but if you sit back and relax you get a heck of a ride.
If I remember right, Mallard Fillmore has a bug up its butt about a lot of things....
I gotta say, I love that all these things keep using the wrong GL.

There's something oddly delightful about someone thinking that the Batmobile is a hetero Prius.
Obviously because the Batmobile bangs women, yes.
You guys ever see the Onion cartoons that basically just Colbert up Mallard Fillmore?
A Robin is gay joke? How 1950's!

It's interesting, isn't it? Because geeks with young kids insist that John Stewart is THE iconic GL.
I think this all reinforces Hal's iconic status in one sense... But on another level may force DC to make Hal himself gay the next reboot.
Honestly, as someone not THAT deeply invested, I wouldn't mind a "Crisis on Infinite Lanterns" about now, paring the whole thing down to, say...
Hal as the gay, overly macho airforce pilot with a habit of getting punched out. (You gotta play out his crushes on Ollie and Barry as an arc.) He's an ex-air force engineer and trying to hide his sexuality from Carol Ferris by overcompensating.
John Stewart as the sensitive, latte slurping, hetero artist who's Hal's friend. John lives in Soho and has a wacky Russian landlord. He's a retired marine who draws manga and runs a podcast now. He dates lots of women who are aliens and time anomalies and other weird stuff. He's especially into green women and magenta women. Dated Hawkgirl for awhile, didn't work out.
At the end of the day, Hal and John sit down in a diner and it's their friendship that grounds the franchise.
