International Boarders - How do you get your US comics?

I'm going to be living outside the US for at least a year and I'd like to keep up with some of my regular US comics. I'm curious how those Bendis Board folks who don't live in the US read US comics (if you do at all). Do you have subscriptions mailed to you? Do you have a local shop that carries US titles? DCBS (or similar online shop)? ComiXology or the other digital apps (can you purchase from ComiXology, Marvel.com, etc. outside the US)? Any info you can provide would be great! Trying to get everything set up and in order before I leave.

    Thanks!!!

Does anyone have information about this? I'm really interested, and can't seem to find anything online, and if it's possible to buy through the Marvel or ComiXology apps outside the US. Shipping physical comics would be ok, and I've talked to DCBS (and people in the DCBS thread here) so I at least know it's possible, but the shipping would be a bit much and I'd have to wait for one large shipment a month. With digital, I could pretty much keep up with day / date release...no shipping but also no DCBS discount, so kind of a wash on price.

Where are you going to be living? Europe? Africa? Far East? Dark side of the Moon? I've lived in a fair few countries and always found a way to get comics. Sometimes late, sometimes shipped in the mail, but I've always kept shops in business over the years. Nowadays though it's all about the digital and Comixology for me.

Japan. Specifically in a fairly small (population of about 6,500) and remote city in a forest on top of a mountain on Shikoku island. My guess is that the closest place to find a shop carrying manga will be the nearby larger city of Tokushima (about 45min away) and whether they carry US comics or not will be a crapshoot. I possibly could find a shop in Osaka that carries some, but that's about 3hrs away and will probably be a rare trip. I was thinking about just getting DCBS to ship stuff to me, but now I'm really starting to believe that digital / Comixology will be better, easier, and cheaper if I just cut back to the core set of comics that I truly want to keep up with. I'm just worried that there's some sort of region lock situation and I won't be allowed to purchase and download comics through the apps while there.

It's good to hear that you've been able to find a way to keep up with the comics you wanted! Comixology works well for you in London?
