Im just now watching this so I am creating this thread to avoid spoilers in the other one. I've only watched the first three episodes so I don't have all the names down.
First off the blonde sister fucker. Seriously. They made this dude look exactly like the prince in the Shrek movies. What the fuck. Also if he killed the mad king then why isn't he the King. I thought that was how things worked.
Aria. Love her. Seriously this little girl has stolen my heart. Such a cutey pie.
The Imp. I see why the dude won emmy's I love him but if he really tried to kill Brandon then im gonna be pissed.
The queen. It tok me some time to realize she was sarah connor. She looks really young in this.
The taldarian dude. The guy who married off his sister so he could get an army. He creeps me out and sorta reminds me of Ian Somerholder.
That is all. I'll try to learn their names before I post again.
Hate me all you want, 95 % of the time I'm write.

I watched season 1 on DVD, but don't have HBO so I have to wait forever to see season 2. No way I'll make it spoiler-free.I'm hoping they'll try to get the DVD's out in time for Christmas.
Peter Dinklage really stole the show. I hear they beefed up his part a lot in season 2... but I hope they didn't co-opt the overall story in order to do so.
As of the end of season 1 I'm on Team Danaerys myself. That may well change in season 2.

"I hope we shall crush in its birth the aristocracy of our moneyed corporations, which dare already to challenge our government to a trial of strength and to bid defiance to the laws of our country." --Thomas Jefferson
Don't think they beefed up his part.. after all he is Tyrion Lannister and Tyrion is one of the primary POV characters in the book series, hell I think he is the primary POV character.
I only read the first part of the first book. The books didn't grab me, but the TV series did.
It seemed like Jon Snow was the main POV character at that point.

Short Answers:
1. Robert Baratheon is a distant relative of the Targaryens so he has more of a claim to the throne than the Lannisters do. His great great great great so many great grandfather married a younger sister of the Targaryen king.
2. Robert had an army willing to follow him.
3. Jamie is considered an oath breaker and the high septon would never annoint him king.
4. This ain't highlander. You don't automatically gain the power of the person you kill.
THe long answer....that would be very spoilery. Don't expect to learn that until season 3 or 4.
Okay thanks. Is the book series finished yey. Cause i thought about reading them but i dont want to start another unfinished series.

BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Sorry
No, the book series is not finished. There are 7 books and only 5 has come out.
THe reason why I laugh is there was a 6 year gap between books 4 and 5 being published.
I think by the time book 7 comes out my newborns will be old enough to read them, and old enough I will allow them to watch the show.
