I've never participated in this game, but I always really enjoy reading the updates. I don't think that anyone involved is really there for the prize; it's just a fun little bonus. These discussions just get creativity flowing and spark wonderful and diverse conversation about the industry and where it is going, can go, and so forth.

Yep. The first season there was no prize (although I think someone donated some trades to the winner). Once GHC started up, we just decided to add it as a nice bonus.

You! I am still upset you misinformed me! I explicitely asked whether those were creative challenges or organisatorial stuff like redesigning a line. You said no. And the very second challenge was rebooting the DC line! D:

I could have tried to read up on old challenges to get an idea, admittedly :3

    Third challenge.

And it takes a fair amount of creativity to redesign a line and create a bunch of new books.

More than a fair amount. A lot of creativity.

I have a new understanding of what DC editorial must have done---and they couldn't just assign creators who are available and good for books. The real people would have to say "yes."

It was an interesting challenge. We butted heads a few times, but it's a good team, and I'm happy with what we did. Quite proud of my Midnight Suns pitch. :P
My first novel is up Amazon Kindle at http://www.amazon.com/In-My-Brothers...8184334&sr=1-1
