I just learned Punisher is back at Marvel. Now, he wouldn't work in an Avengers movie, but what about having him as a villain in one of the solo films? Not the main villain, but as an example of what can happen if a hero goes to far.

Quick points:
- Samuel L. Jackson has read The Pro. I am fucking impressed.
- Geena Davis is a helluva action movie star. Go see Cutthroat Island, her swashbuckling pirates and swordplay flick. I could almost vote for Geena Davis as Ms. Marvel in the next movie. But first, read on.
- You can't simply add more characters. It was a miracle of rare device that Whedon got so much characterization into The Avengers. To retain that, any new character, male or female, must displace someone.
- On the other hand, three words: Pepper Potts, Rescue.
- If played by Tracie Thoms, she should be introduced in a Nextwave: Agents of H.A.T.E. film. Thoms was born to play that Ms. Marvel.
- If played by Gina Torrez, yes, yes, yes.
My hat's off to you, sir. Nice formatting, too.
Takin' that Mandarin thing a bit too literally, aren't ya?

Takin' that Mandarin thing a bit too literally, aren't ya?- its the Internet. People ALWAYS invent their own spelling.
He operates as a comic book hero, though, in the broadest sense. He just goes too far. He has a costume, he operates outside the law to protect people and punish criminals, it's just that his punishment involves death instead of jail time. I'm not saying idolize him or anything, just that traditionally the second super-hero movie involves multiple villains and the protagonist struggling with what it means to be a hero. Punisher seems perfect as both an antagonist and a source of moral conflict.

I think you're right. As well as another character just taking screentime away from other characters, you'd pretty much have to spend 10-20 minutes just explaining them.
Also keep in mind, the point of the movie is that superpowers are pretty much a new thing. The appearence of the Asgardians was a big deal to this world, that impact is weakened the more characters in a similar position already exist.
I have to say, I don't think I'll ever get why Wasp has such clamour for appearing beyond the fact she was an original. Ms/Captain Marvel seems an obvious choice, She-Hulk would be if she didn't have Hulk in her name, there's a few others with good reasons. Her, I'll never understand.
Can I just say I have no interest in an Ant-Man movie?
I know he's one of the original Avengers and all that, but I don't see him having a very compelling story.
