The art is fantastic. I am neither patient nor steady enough to even consider using a brush for that kind of detail.
Those moments kill me.
I've had make-up jobs where I'm pretty much done and all that's needed is the finishing powder and I just happen to smudge the colors along my client's eye and now it turns into a rescue mission for my work. I hate that.
Seems like you had the right respond to just walk away to take a breath of air. Trying to fix it right away would have probably been a bad idea.
I'm also very glad that it's fixable.
And, I'll agree with the others when they say that the art is amazing, even with that little ink spot. You can sense the emotions on the page. I just love it.

Face it Cam, you're only giving me sympathy because I'm Tasmanian!
I finished inking the page yesterday and was able to fix it suitably in Photoshop. I'm really very lucky, the spill could have been much worse. Thanks for the comments guys, you did make me feel much better. This book will be coming out in August from Image in a bumper 352 page trade paperback. (Thankfully I'm only drawing 42 of those pages!) I promise to give more solicit details when I have them.
I take that as a huge compliment. Becky is a huge inspiration of mine, I am loving her current run on Conan the Barbarian. (If you haven't picked up Becky's creator-owned book, 'Wolves' you should, it's amazing. I think it's only 99cents on the iOs store too.) She's going to be a special guest at SDCC this year so I may just get a chance to see her.
Augh I hate that! I hate it when I do a great job on my own make-up but then screw up the swish of my liquid eyeliner so I need to start all over again, or at least try and do a rushed patch-up job.
Thanks. I'm not too familiar with brush inking, I grew up using art pens. I think you can do some amazing things with a brush that take so long to do with a regular inking pen.

I know nothing of how this works but I'm so glad that you were able to get it fixed via photoshop.

I've been there (More than once, unfortunately)! I'm glad that you were able to recover.
On the plus side -- speaking as one artist to another -- I AM amused by the way that everybody seems to be looking at the splotch and grimacing -- even when you blot your page, you manage to put it in the EXACT right place to make it meta!
Above and beyond that, however, the page looks good. I think you're going to go far, Kid, and I don't just mean to San Diego, either.
One of Cassandra's pages is up at Wired today:

And I agree with Mike. She's going places.

That is a rather nice page.
Beautiful work. And I have totally done that before. I'm glad that you were able to do some fixing on it. Look forward to picking it up.
