I totally believe the story about Romney, I just don't think bigotry played a part in it. It was about looks, not sexual orientation. The kid looked different, so Romney and his goons went after him for it.

In addition, in prep school culture, conformity is a huge thing. Anyone who doesn't fit in is considered a "troublemaker". So if it happened, that might have been a big part of it.

If I every do it, it is because it is a thought I genuinely back. I don't do it just to do so. Especially if it is such an attack on some ones character.

It is a cheap joke whose use I have no appreciation for.

Yeah. People are trying to make an allegedly horrible situation even worse than it is by injecting homophobia into it when I don't think it was ever a part of it. Bullying is bad enough. is there any reason to make a bullying incident worse than it was?

Yeah, it doesn't need to have that motivation inferred onto it. I think that's just happening because gay rights are on people's minds this week.

Probably. And I think people are hoping Obama will make it a campaign focus. That's not going to happen. They've already put out a statement that since Romney apologized, it's a non-issue to them.
