I guess you answered your own question further down as to how, yes, Seth is a working photographer, but otherwise you're acting like photography isn't a legitimate profession, or pretending that copyright doesn't extend to photography.

It's obviously a legitimate profession, they charge enough for it.

And not at all.

I believe there are artists who use the camera as a tool to create and express and are artistic in its use...then there are chuckleheads who pick up a camera and think that makes them artists.

I'm being a bit contrary and playing devil's advocate. This guy seems legit, nice cover on his book.
