My biggest objection to an e-reader was that it wouldn't feel like really reading a book.

Turns out, it does. There are other issues, as as concern about reading, say, in the bathtub. And I still need to figure out how to transfer stuff to my Kindle when I don't buy it at the Kindle store. (I.E. project gutenberg stuff) but the instant gratification of "ooh, I want that book!" and two second later, having it RIGHT THERE in my hand is a huge draw.

the Fire is just a bit small for Comic Reading, I'd say.

it's also just a bit small for web-browsing.

I will be using it MAINLY for reading, and possibly for music. . .but other than that?.. very unlikely I'll watch a movie, read a magazine, or web-surf with it.

but I really do like it.

I'd also say you MUST get a cover/carrier for it. It's JUST an awkward enough size to easily slip out of your hand. and I'm sure it wouldn't survive a drop. Nick already ordered me a very nice carrier with cover, that you can slip your hand thru the back so you can be sure it doesn't slip.
