Tyr and Angie - so very sorry to hear about your losses. Even though we know death happens, it's still never easy to accept. It always feels like some big surprise that we never expected, ever. Just a few weeks ago (right after Easter) I arrived at mom's rental, and her tenant came out and asked me to watch her dogs because she had just found her companion of 14 years dead in bed. He was great a guy (59 years old), a jazz musician of some renown, and the news just punched me in the gut. I had just been talking to him a couple days before, making a fuss over his little dogs and meeting his teenage son for the first time. He was so full of life and fun, but just like that he was gone.

    Yeah, death sucks.

Tyr and Angie, I am very sorry to read this. I know how hard this is. It seems like many people around me have been diagnosed with cancer recently as well. It's scary, and losing friends your own age not only is very sad, but has that added element of forcing you to confront your own mortality. It might seem sort of selfish to think about that, but it also seems inescapable.

Again, my well wishes to the both of you. It just...sucks.
