I think book untouched by crossovers (for the most part) definitely have a better chance of being story rather than event, at least right now. I have been reading Demon Knights and it feels mostly character driven, frex. So I'd guess Animal Man, Swamp Thing and All-Star Western might fall in that category as well, since they've been revived presumably because creators were passionate about these characters.

Daredevil...most of what I've seen by Waid has a definite ending for a story purpose. Empire was sad and tragic but it seemed appropriate. I'm guessing he's going somewhere with the Boom! Studios titles and the story arc that ended with Max sending his teenage lover away had some resonance. I suspect he's too good a storyteller at this point to skip that catharsis, unless crossovers changed it up.
