Warrior, Thief, Mage, who is the best?

I myself was 90% of the time a mage even when being one was almost suicidal in the earlier levels ( anyone remember 2nd edition?). It felt like such an accomplishment when you reached that awesome fifth level and fireball became your new friend.

I miss gaming, wish I had the time to find a new group.

For the record that collection was going to be stolen by another thief. And I was the poorer thief... so I figure it balanced out.

I play warrior types mostly, as I love the raw damage they can do while soaking up punishment. As I "Leroy Jenkins" a bit, it helps.

I played an ill-tempered dwarf armed with a mace, named "Thoss". Some bad guy was tailing me and the healer. We jumped him in an alley, and I kept smashing his hands with the mace, then would have healer patch him up, all to get information. Left him with smashed hands and a warning to not be seen by me again.
