I also enjoyed it, but I'd not be the biggest fan of Aardman, I just don't really like a lot of their stuff. This I did like, I thought it was pretty clever and lots of fun, and also think it's worth seeing
I love Aardman, I'm crazy about them. But I do think they struggle a little with longform films. Many seem to have a nice, gentle idea, and sort of meander through it. Arthur Christmas had a nice ending, but was very slow getting there. The exception for me was Chicken Run, which I think felt like a longform Wallace and Gromit and was the better for that.
This one continues the tradition...it's very pleasant, and it's full of charm. They might be better at charm than anyone else right now. But it does lack the emotional kick or big laughs of Pixar at their
best.
Still, worth seeing, it was a fun film and lovely to look at!

No Hugs, Only RAGE
I'll give it a view.
Just got back from seeing it and I have to say I disagree with Gail. I laughed throughout and I thought every bit of it was clever lunacy AND I did really feel for Polly the Dodo. Perhaps because in some ways she reminded me of my own, beloved, INSANE Rat Terrier.
Even the soundtrack for it was insane and yet it did what a good soundtrack is supposed to do -- it ADDED to the movie. In this case the soundtrack was actually used to increase the jokes or to even act as a kind of joke itself.
It's kind of a shame this movie is getting overshadowed by "The Avengers" because, good comic book movies are becomming more common but really good movies that adults AND kids can enjoy without it being a "kiddie" movie that just panders to the audience are becomming sadly rare.
This is one of those rare ones where kids get a kick out of it and adults get a kick out of it and everyone walks out having had a good time instead of feeling like they've just had I.Q. points stolen from them.
