In the US, I'd imagine that immigrants and the children of immigrants care the most, as they might be rooting for the country of their ancestors. My family has always rooted for Estonian athletes.

And then you have the people who care a lot about a particular sport.

No, they suck. I'm glad NBC sucks now. I used to hate having my favorite shows preempted.

Crom, I have never prayed to you before. I have no tongue for it. No one, not even you, will remember if we were good men or bad. Why we fought, or why we died. All that matters is that two stood against many. That's what's important! Valor pleases you, Crom... so grant me one request. Grant me revenge! And if you do not listen, then to HELL with you!

I care more about which athletes have to pretend they don't like pot

It's competitive sport at one of the highest levels, ever.

It's compelling and interesting just by its nature.

Not to mention the storylines that can come from the events.

    It will be great.
Why do you still have signatures turned on?

I'll tell you one person who doesn't care about the Olympics:

    Keith Moon.
People think I have got the power cause I've got the monkeys. Nope. I've got the power because I'll let the monkeys loose...

I love the Olympics, summer and winter. It's a chance to expand my sports culture horizons. Fencing, curling, heptathalon, dressage, wrestling, track and field, ping pong, badminton, lacrosse, all of it. I love watching people who have taken these sports to the level of a discipline, an art. The spirit of competitiveness that's invested in what at first glance may appear to be odd or prissy or 'not a real sport.' Great stuff.

You don't get that from the NFL, NBA, MLB, etc., with sports that are more entertaining?

Why do you have to be limited to those? You do know sports existed long before the USA came along right?

You don't, I'm asking not telling. But people like Ryuodo who participates on a lot of those sports threads, who don't watch these sports for three years and then get excited for the Olympics are interesting to me.
