It's easier to destroy than create. It may be able to be restored or, like if someone's back is broken and the nerves severed, they look the same outside but won't be able to walk again.

The penultimate episode had the surprise appearance of General Iroh. What can you tell us about him? Are we going to see more of him in the future?

    Konietzko:
Yeah, he’s in the finale. Just so we’re clear—he’s Zuko’s grandson, not his son. I think there was some speculation about whether he was his son or grandson. It is his grandson. He’s voiced by Dante Basco. The idea behind him was to have a swashbuckling hero-type guy. He’s the youngest general in the United Forces which is kind of the U.N. of the “Avatar” world now. We just thought it would be a fun way to tie in the legacy of Zuko without having Zuko be present there.

Done some thinking and... well I think the only Team Avatar member I really like is Bolin. For some reason I've just been thinking about the Asami/Korra/Mako Triangle a bit and really none of them have come off terribly well. Korra and Mako are really just being horrible about the entire situation and it's really harming my opinion of them. Asami is... well she's starting to do the right thing but she REALLY needs to tell Korra and Mako off in the finale. Like seriously, just tear into them. Mako and Korra would almost deserve each other if they were written as having a little chemistry.

It's just such a technically excellent show in almost every way that the entire love triangle just becomes more annoying. The entire relationship should just fall apart if you ask me. If it does I'll actually be more cool with it. I mean I can't really criticize it if it's SUPPOSED to be a romance destined to end badly...

Bolin just do more excellent things with your Fire Ferret companion.... I know there's no chance in hell of the finale being the Bo-Show but I would prefer it greatly at this point.

Team Avatar is composed of stupid, hormoned-up teenagers. I mean I like them in other respects but they are teens and teens are inherently stupid when it comes to relationship shit. Who in their right mind expects a bunch of kids to handle a stupid high school love triangle with grace and maturity and correct decisions? I think all the fuck-ups of Korra, Mako, and Asami are more or less in keeping with the normal fuck-ups of immature pre-adults. I don't get why someone would hold any of this crap against any of the given kids; but then I don't particularly care about the teen romance angle of this show as much as a lot of people.

Honestly I don't them being teenagers is much of an excuse. Realistic or not it's doing nothing but making me like the characters less. And I really don't think that's what the creators intended.

When I show does almost everything right sometimes it's easy to ignore whatever bad aspects it has. But sometimes it just makes them worse.

But hey, maybe it'll look better in hindsight. I mean the pacing might as well and that's where the issue stems from.

The pacing's one thing I do have quibbles with, but I figure it partially results from this whole thing being originally compressed into one very short season.

Also, yes, that fan art is badass.

Yeah, it's really just that. And More regular/recurring characters. The Original series had a longer first season and really only three (four if you count Zuko) main characters to follow. Shorter season, more characters, it just leads to things having to be played very carefully. Some episodes feel alright in their pacing but others just really don't/ Hindsight will tell whether or not the entire season will feel off or not.

Aye to the badassitude of said fan art.

    Re: Legend of Korra

I admit I got a bit of a cheap thrill when all of the morons on the net insisting that Amon was Aang or Bumi were proven to be not only wrong but moronically wrong.

I got teary when Aang showed up and said Korra called him. It was a brilliant way to fix Korra and Lin without going with Korra suddenly being able to get into the Avatar state by Amon taking Mako's bending or something similar, benders in refrigerators and such.

It was too rushed, though. I think it would have been served better by breaking Endgame into two episodes.

Agreed. Like I said, cutting down the number of episodes really killed the pacing this year. Still, I thought it was good enough send-off and I was happy to finally see Aang (outside of flashbacks obviously).

Wondering what they have in store next season now.
