Oh yeah. Men are stupid and inferior to women. Which is why, historically, men have done everything in their power to oppress them.
I also think being a nerd makes a difference.
I think nerds are more likely to want nerds. Not just smart people but geeky smart people, like most of the posters here.
But smart people who aren't nerds probably wind up in relationships of convenience where one of them is just going to be smarter and intelligence is an undesirable characteristic in men (or a partner in general), outside of nerd/geek circles.
Is your intelligence something that gives you control or which allows you to form bonds.
By virtue of being nerds/geeks, we relate to people on the basis of intelligence.
But I'd say the smart non-nerd, non-geek is probably more apathetic to their own intelligence or they use it to control people.
Which is why I think you see non-geek/nerd smart people will marry an attractive (either for confidence or looks) but dumb member of the opposite gender.
The nice ones do it because they think being attracted to intelligence is shallow and egotistical for a smart person. The more power hungry ones do it believing it gives them control.
Oh yeah. Men are stupid and inferior to women. Which is why, historically, men have done everything in their power to oppress them.

Carotid Artery - Daniel Bryan likes it. Right, Daniel?
Yes, all women everywhere think all men everywhere are stupid and inferior.
Didn't you get the memo?
Men make those commercials, so I think it says more about how they few themselves regarding women than anything else.
Phoenix Legacy is a wonderfully entertaining rollercoaster read that conjures up the fantastical worlds explored in comic books yet provides a romance between unconventional characters.--review of Phoenix Legacy at Night Owl Reviews.
Yes, I agree.
I don't even know where to start. You seem to be looking for validation because of your insecurities, and yet, you are preemptively defensive of the fact that some people might point out to you, correctly, that treatment of women, in the media and in real life, tends to be worse than the treatment of males--and you treat that fact so dismissively. If you had just made it about your feelings about those commercials in which men are portrayed as buffoons, I could get on board with that. A consequence of patriarchy is that it's restricting to both men and women, in different ways. But the fact that you felt the need to throw in the belittling remarks about what women go through, and imply that feminists are hypocrites, while at the same time, trying to garner support for an injustice you've observed being perpetrated against men...well, it leaves a bad taste.
For the record, I wouldn't be surprised if most of those ads are actually written by men. And they're not very flattering for the women in them either, if you think about it. Their roles are usually limited to looking pretty, playing caregiver to their spouses, and always tolerating the childish behavior, because of course, their purpose is to serve their husbands, and they have no needs of their own.
White men get away with everything in the real world. Sorta seems fair they should be made to look a little inferior in some aspects of the media.
Hell, for every instance of man looking stupid, just look and see how often an older, chubby/fat, ugly man in a movie or TV show has a gorgeous, young(er) wife.
King Of Queens and Leave It To Jim come to mind quickly.
Weeeeeellll...
