Thread: DC Nation shorts

    Re: DC Nation shorts

It borders on comedic how every Batgirl thread across the internet becomes a Babs V Steph and Cass thing.

Anyway, they've been mostly hit or miss. The two Super BFF ones have been good and I enjoyed the Animal Man one. Looking forward to the Thunder and Lightning ones.

Lauren Faust gave an interview recently, where she comments about the short going to series:

The buzz surrounding this project has been incredible. If given the opportunity, would you revisit Super Best Friends Forever?

Definitely. It would be wonderful to do another round of shorts, but I’d love to see it go to series as well. Then we could really open it up with bigger stories. I’ve got lots of ideas and I’d love the chance to bring more DC characters into the SBFF world. I’ve got ideas for Superman and I’ve got a great idea for Batman and Robin—specifically how they relate to the girls. If I got to do more it would be fun to go through the DC catalog and do a new funny spin on as many characters as I could.

Meanwhile, Is anyone else bothered by the fact Donna's eyes changed color? They were purple on the promo images and are black in the shorts! I really like the purple better!

I caught the tail-end when it was airing this morning (Right after Superman said "Grounded") and was confused as heck; it makes more sense now (Although I find the wedgie to be unnecessary). I wasn't previously one of the "Babs-As-Steph" people, but it's getting a bit hard not to see that point of view. Barbara was always fun, but she's never been quite so goofy (In a good way).
Life is like a roller coaster. It has its ups and downs, but if you sit back and relax you get a heck of a ride.

Like I said, I get less Steph and more Misfit.

The wedgie and punching seemed way OOC, but Ma Kent's cameo was awesome.

SBFF are the best so far (makes sense since it's Lauren Faust), though I enjoyed that Plastic Man one. Reminds me of the Plastic Man pitch they did for WB that never got picked up.

The one that really made me wince was the Superman in Tokyo one. Oy. I know I'm not the target audience, but that one's really, really trying too hard to get the anime and manga crowd. And just, well, not funny, at least to me.

Agreed on SBFF, I like those, though today's wasn't as good IMHO.

I loathe the weird everyone seems to be a small British child rendered in claymation ones.

Teen Titans I've been not liking a lot of, but today's riff on Titanic was fantastic.

And SO with you on Superbaby Tokyo. Ick.
My first novel is up Amazon Kindle at http://www.amazon.com/In-My-Brothers...8184334&sr=1-1

    And now in paperback, too!

SBFF is pretty much the only one I even bother to find online.

Babs continues to always be awesome in Animation.

I imagine it's only a matter of time before SBFF is going to become a full series. Lauren Faust is a queen idol of animation right now, plus a surprisingly huge fan base already built in due to My little pony. I don't really understand the popularity or appeal of the current series, but If it means a sbff series, It'll be worth it.

    Re: DC Nation shorts

I'd watch a SBFF full series. I'd be skeptical about how well it will translate to 11 minute or 22 minute cartoons though. But as a fan of her work on MLP and other shows I can give it a shot.
