I really really wanted Mello on the Bulls. Between Rose and Thibs, I think they could have "got his mind right". The chaos the Knicks have been is probably not the best environment for his kind of personality. Plenty of NBA players who don't play to their potential, but I would be hard-pressed to identify five players who possess more ability than Carmello Anthony.
And I apologize for the digression from baseball. To make amends, I offer The Ballad of Rey Ordonez...

This will be the only time the Royals are discussed in this thread this year.

It happened in the summer of 1983, so this isn't really the anniversary, but it's the only time the Yankees are in town this year, so I guess that's why they're commemorating it today.

17 inning win for the Orioles today. Crazy stuff. Our DH who went 0-7 pitched a shutout in the 16th and 17th innings. The play at the plate to save the game in the bottom of the 16th was crazy. The Orioles never used to win games like this.
Edit: this play

Some of the craziest games in the history of baseball have been played in Fenway Park.

This is starting to look like an abysmal season here in Colorado. Tulo looks like he had a case of the yips not fielding worth a damn, nor hitting clutch. The pitching staff is the worst in baseball and I seriously doubt it gets any better.
Plus blowing 5 and 6 run leads just deflates the shit out of you, especially from the asshole Braves and their doucebag fans.
Although I will admit it was kind of cool to watch Chipper play one final time before he retires.
To steal a line from Buk, I'm just taking this season one game at a time.
