Avengers the movie is what I wish the comics would make me feel like right now.

Yes, he is. He's excellent, and I'm thrilled to see him get that big Hollywood break finally.

I'm not sure how you'd say the Avengers script was "Subtle", though. If anything, what it excelled at was capturing the big action, laugh-out-loud moments, and gripping suspense of what a great comic book feels like.

Same here. Not only for the fun but also the capability of the actor playing the lead character.

Robert Downey Jr WAS Tony Stark. His entire life was just rehearsing for that role. And Tony Stark is Tony Stark in or out of the suit.

Christian Bale was a fantastic Bruce Wayne. And there is where his abilities end. He was an atrocious Batman. Heath Ledger on the other hand was the Joker, without question. I could believe he was the character in that movie. That's the only reason the movie really gets any rewatches from me.

    Pretty much.

    Also Bale's marble-mouth Batman voice

I fully expect to get smacked by Ray at NYCC by now.

It's a fantastic screenplay. Almost had a comedy of menace feel. People manipulating people. But Joss never makes it as heavy as Nolan does and that's why Whedon is the better craftsman.

Who da thunk that Chris Evans would be an amazing Steve Rogers?
