I have a hard time believing you know a lot of people who love these movies that won't mind waiting for video on DKR.
It's a bit like having sex with a jellyfish: once might an interesting experiment, twice would be perversion!

You can believe what you want. I'm just stating something I've been hearing quite a bit about. Most of the people I discuss these movies with have gone from raving about Nolan's Bat-movies and hailing them as the best superhero comic book movies to seriously not caring or flat out mocking everything they're seeing of the next one quite fast. Most of them now are only interested in them in terms of it being a Nolan movie, not a Batman movie.

Will they flat out skip the movie? Doubtful. Will they care if they miss it? I'm going with no because that's what they've said (not being a mindreader quite yet I'm choosing to repeat what they've said not what they actually feel about the movie or what they'll actually do).

I'm hearing more buzz and hype for Avengers, Spider-Man, even the Hobbitt over DKR.

Again I will say, it's going to do well. It's going to do REALLY well. I just don't think it's going to do as well as Ray keeps saying. I'll be amazed if it does better than Avengers, and also if it's even a better film than Avengers.

I'm riding a wave of nerd ecstacy post-Avengers.

I feel like they just gave my heart a massage, complete with optional happy ending.

But come on, Mr. Nolan. Phantom of the Paradise is THE robotic voice. I don't know about this one. See Heath Ledger really pulled Dark Knight together. He and what he does sans the ferry stuff is great.

I still don't get why Lucius was mad at Bruce for that machine. HE WAS GONNA USE IT TO HELP PEOPLE AND USE IT ONCE!

You're obviously not from around here, Sasha. It was a subtle, but very clear commentary on one of the great political issues of the times - whether breaking the law and spying on people to save lives is ever acceptable, no matter how grave the threat.

Bruce was the voice of the determined law enforcement advocate who believes that almost anything is justified in the name of saving lives. Lucius was the voice of the concerned civil liberties activist who says we risk becoming what we hate if we throw away the rule book. The movie explained both of their reasonings well, and didn't come down on either side definitively. It's why I always say Dark Knight was the best War on Terror movie ever made.

But it's like he didn't use it for that. He used it to tell if there was a guy on a floor.

So yeah, you're not from around here. It's okay. I guess you just didn't get the context.

But again, it wasn't used to spy on a phone call. It was used to see if there were guys on a floor. Also kind of unnecessary because Batman is a ninja and he did that shit in Year one without anything but cats!
