Hell, until Waid, Rucka and Aaron's runs on Daredevil, Punisher and Wolverine/Wolverine and the X-Men it was easily the best Marvel run at Marvel since the early 2000's.

Even now it's still pretty fucking close. I just think the main book has lost it's way a little bit. I think it's the art shift. It kinda killed the tone a bit.
The thing about Brubaker's Cap run is that I thought everything from the Death of Cap through the new series was utterly fantastic, but the Steve solo stuff just doesn't work for me as much. Bru clicked with Bucky in the way that few writers are lucky enough to get - that perfect mesh of character and creator that just works brilliantly. Nothing else has wowed me quite like that. Winter Soldier sure is amazing right now, though.

For me, USM is probably my favorite 155 issue complete run on a comic ever. Plus a few annuals, and some issues of Marvel Team-Up. And that's exactly how long USM lasted.

For me Bru was the only writer to make me give a crap about Steve Rogers solo book. No one else has managed that. What he's done with Bucky was phenomenal though, I'll grant you.

Sounds like it should be ranked up there with Y The Last Man's 59 issue run then
