I haven't seen the new season yet. Apparently one of the ladies in the current cast was just hired to fill in for one of the teachers out on maternity leave at my wife's school. I'm not sure of her name but I believe she is a Latina. Which is weird since now both my wife and I have had co-workers that were in the cast of Survivor.

I hope it's not the Special Ed teacher. . as she's yet another terrible example of the horrid type of teachers that feel the need to complete on Survivor
(remember NaOnka?. . the teacher who pushed over the girl with 1 leg?).

oh, there IS a really good teacher represented on Survivor this year, but she's a black lady. (the other teacher is the horrible one I noted above who teamed up with the vapid younger girls to kick out the older ladies first).

this piece of shit is allowed by CBS editors to go on television and call the 1st little person ever on Survivor a "Munchkin" and an "Oompa-Loompa".

then refer to the one black guy on the tribe as "Ghetto Trash", and tell him that his "job" (complete with air quotes) as a comedian is not a real job.

then defending himself saying he knows black people, and only admitting --when pushed by Jeff Probst -- that the person he knows is his family's maid in Alabama, but she's one of the family (tho Jeff got him to basically admit that she's PAID to be part of the family).

Colton deserves much more than a *shrug* Rachel.

this kind of assholery should NOT be allowed on primetime TV.

and I do plan on writing CBS about it today.

I guess the disconnect is that I *don't* expect better from network television. It is, and has always been, a vast wasteland.

If this were someone who had any relevance to the real world, I'd be upset. But one of the odd little people who go on reality shows? Aren't they generally expected to be awful human beings in the first place?
