But you're right - both titles have had too many fill-ins, and some art that just looks rushed. I do like Nick Dragotta's art, though he in particular looks rushed on FF and seems to be working in a different style for some reason.
Yeah, it's just a damned shame that what would otherwise be an A+ book month-in, month-out is being brought down to an A- or even a B+ due to all these fill-in artists.

Again, no disrespect to the artists themselves, but a book with writing this good really deserves a consistent creative team/tone, y'know?

Those Eaglesham issues were great. What's he been doing that prevents him from doing this monthly?
I know he was on Alpha Flight (which, naturally, I loved) but where has he been since then?

I think you all know how much I love Alpha Flight, but even I'll be the first to admit, that book was all-but doomed from the start.
So why waste a talent like Eaglesham on a book that is never gonna make it past 12 issues in the first place?
Put Garney or the like on AF. The AF die-hards like myself will buy it regardless of creators and you aren't going to get that many more sales by putting an Eaglesham or an Epting on the title.
Meanwhile, you can leave Eaglesham on Fantastic Four with Hickman and have a far better and more consistent look to one of the best books on the shelves.

    Or not.
    Whatever.
    Fuck you.

Today is The Grand National horse race here in the UK.

One of the two things I lay a bet on each year (the other being the Stanley Cup, where I always lay a bet on the Avs at the beginning of each season).

If my horse comes in, I'll be looking at around £100 from a £5 stake.

C'mon horsey, Daddy needs a new batch of back-issues!

This has been stuck on a seemingly-infinite loop on the Infernal Jukebox for almost four days straight now, and if I've gotta suffer then I'm taking all of you with me.

Yah, not sure. I like Eaglesham a lot.

I love Eaglesham, but I like Garney. Dragotta's first few issues were god awful, but he is improving.

Dragotta can do a perfect Allred or Cooke impersonation. He has his own style that is classic and dynamic, too and not unlike the Rivera/Martin style over in Waid's Daredevil. But he was doing something altogether different here, and I'm not sure why? Maybe to be less jarring with the previous artists he was filling-in for? But if they'd just let him do his regular thing, it'd be great.

I wonder if he's trying to branch out into a style of his own? Vengeance looked different too.

Vengeance looked great, but it had that same feel as a few recent Marvel series (Omega The Unknown and Strange Tales both immediately spring to mind) where it seems like they are deliberately trying to capture some of the Indie vibe but under the Marvel banner.

Since I got some good news and I'm about to slot into a (much) better paying job, I think I'm going to treat myself by going out to the comic shop today and buying something for myself that I wouldn't ordinarily buy for myself.

I don't know what that thing will be. It depends on the selection of the shop. (I could treat myself by ordering something online, but I want some instant gratification, not gratification in 3-7 days.)

Maybe that Marshall Rogers Batman book. Maybe that Jim Aparo book. Maybe something else. I dunno. I'd kinda like to treat myself somehow.
