Honestly most of the jokes would not be out of place on the actual show sometimes!

I wish I was into MAD when I was a kid. My parents let me read all the comics I wanted but for whatever reason they looked down on MAD.

Jim! Have you and Jess taken a look at the panels for C2E2?

There's one on Friday that looked entertaining from various perspectives.

    Spoiler:
CSC-1: Comics and the Cold War: Constructions of Morality and Gender

    Description:
Samantha Doerge (School of the Art Institute of Chicago) looks at how Cold War questions about moral and civic duty from the 1960s contributed to the development of Marvel Comics and the Marvel antihero. Christina L. Blanch (Ball State University) examines how Mort Weisinger used Lois Lane as a vehicle to express his own often-disturbing personal anxieties and fears about women, love, and the budding feminist movement. Adriana Estrada (University of Houston) uses moral panic theory and labeling theory to investigate how the crusade against comic books of the 1940s and 1950s was a major setback for the progression of the medium—a set back that the medium is still recovering from today.

I was in it for the superhero parodies and mainly Spy vs Spy (c64 games!)

I also picked up National Lampoon magazine back in the day.. stealth boobs! I'd pick Weekly World News for their page 3 girl too

    Lois!

    I'm not sure if we're going. I can't decide!

Loved Mad, especially the little paperback collectons.

I used to get British MAD here which was regular MAD with more u's.

I loved MAD though. Movie parodies were good but often the least funniest bit in the magazine.
