This is a fantastic blog.
I'm downsizing my comics collection to make closet room for kids stuff and am discovering some long-forgotten stuff. I too started comics in the early 90s and have a soft spot for publishing gimmicks like foil embossing, special covers and stunt events. That shit works well on a teen audience, that's for sure.
There was a huge dichotomy in the 90s of sellout complete garbage and some of the best in genre fiction.
90s comics introduced me to the idea that the individual creators behind entertainment are the driving force of quality, not really a brand name (and this applies to all products from all businesses).
