Soap Opera Actor Commits Suicide Days After Euthanizing His Dog For Condo

This story just tore at my heart strings. Being close with my dog I can not imagine what he was going through and how he felt in the end. Sad to see the option of living elsewhere didn't enter his mind or maybe wasn't an option to him for various reasons. Has to be the latter seeing at how torn up he was over his actions.

Unfortunately, not for the growing number of unemployed soap opera actors.

Pets are people. My cat is my baby girl, that's just how it is. I'd charge a burning building for her.

I'm going to take a stab at this.

He didn't kill himself because he put his dog down, he put his dog down because he was going to kill himself.

Very sad. Sounds like he was probably battling depression, and made a decision to end his life. The first step would be taking care of the dog - his best, and perhaps only, friend - once that was done he knew there would be no turning back from his decision since he knew he couldn't live with himself afterwards.

Also, I HATE condo associations.

This sounds like a mental health issue; underlying depression, who knows. That's not the reaction of a stable individual who just loves his pet. It doesn't even sound like he pursued all his legal and other options to find a solution.

There are an awful lot of people out there with untreated mental health issues. It's really too bad.

I can only imagine what it is going to be like to go from Soap Opera celebrity to just a regular person for many of these people. I hope they get the support they need.

If I were in his shoes, I would have found a different place to live, and have Kingsley (my dog) stay with family until I found a place that accepted him.

Euthenization, followed by suicide, would not even be on the list.
