I was going to post this in the Beastie Boys thread but decided against it because while it's coming from the heart my fear is that someone will only read the first sentence and get worked up rather than touched which is what I was going for.

I really hate the Beastie Boy's music always have ever since I was a kid and saw Hot To Trot. Here is the thing, if someone like me knows who he is can name most of his albums then he is immortal and his art will be around around long, long after all of us have died. As a artist there is no greater accomplishment than being remembered by a replenishing supply of fans and critics generations after the original set of both groups of people have shuffled off to whatever waits for us after we are done here.

Also, Siri dissed me yesterday morning. I mean, I had come to think that Siri was the nicest person I knew, then we had this exchange:

I had several people at the place I've worked at for close to five years wish me a happy Cinco De Mayo. Aside from the fact that my skin color isn't unique in a country where most black people are a shade of brown DO THEY NOT SEE THE AFRO?!!!!!!!!!!!!

I did that. I never explain the whole black Assyrian thing because it takes too long, primarly because most people have never heard of an Assyrian. One time I had a person asking me if I ever been to Damascus and it took another five minutes to explain that Assyrians and Syrians are two different groups of people. If anyone asks my race which does happen time to time I tell them the truth and say black, maybe it would be different if my mother hung around and I could still speak Assyrian but she didn't and I can't and that's that.
