I'm *this* close to actually spending a decent amount of money on sunglasses for the first time in my life.

Speaking of which, the most expensive pair at Amazon are some Alexander McQueen model -- which must have been a one-of-a-kind -- that cost $253,000. Either someone really made a mistake entering the price, or Victoria Beckham hasn't been to Amazon in a while.

See, that's how I've always felt. Though the problem with me isn't so much losing them, it's them breaking them. Example: The reason I'm looking for new ones now is because, while at the Caribou Coffee yesterday with a friend, I was downing a latte. My shades were on top of my head, and when I tipped my head back trying to get every last bit of hazelnut goodness from the cup, they fell back off my head, onto the floor -- something that's happened to me about a thousand times -- and finally gave way to all the abuse.

I finally started to think that if I spent some money on a decent pair, I might not only get some scratch proof lenses and a stronger frame, but I might start taking better care of them. It's like my iPhone. If I had a cheap feature phone, I'd be tossing it my pocket with change and keys, or dropping it. I'm super-careful with my iPhone, since I don't want anything to happen to her ... I mean it (Hi, Siri!)

Now, I don't know if this logic is actually sound. And it was caffeine and alcohol fueled.

One thing is for sure: I won't be buying those quarter-million pair.

Though I've quit the dancing from earlier in the day. So there's that.

Only time I bought shades was in 98. After almost getting in several accidents on the way to my comunity college I said never again. I'm actually a very good driver but something about blocking out light and shadows causes me to miss the little things like oncoming traffic.
