The President, during that Slow Jam the News segment, got legit talking points to an audience that ain't going to watch the Sunday morning talking heads shows but will vote. He's campaigning. That's what you do during a campaign, is you try to reach an audience that hasn't already made up their minds.

The next Edison and Ford, and the next big industries (Jobs!) are going to come from those new scientific and technological arenas.

I'm not really sure why we'd want another Edison, whose greatest talent was stealing other people's good ideas. (One could say similar things about Jobs...)

So the Stafford Loan interest rate is currently set at 3.4% and they want to raise it to 6.8?!? That's ridiculous. That's a higher interest rate than people are getting on their homes! Savings accounts are earning 1/2-1%! 3.4% is quite adequate based on today's interest rates and doubling it is a skeevy way for the government to generate revenue on those who can least afford it.
