So it's okay to be a bigot when you are a politically motivated bigot.

All these people on the wrong side of history. 20 years from now, they'll be trying to claim they were for marriage equality all along.

Again, conservatism is the problem. It's also three Democrats in the Senate.

I never said that. I said it's not surprising in the slightest. Campaigning in a conservative, republican-friendly territory? Yeah, they're probably not going to come out and support gay marriage. Or, to quote the article:

"If they're smart, they won't change what they've been saying," said John Pitney, a political scientist at Claremont McKenna College in Claremont, California.
It's cowardly, though, sure enough. But it's skewing more towards cowardice than an active pursuit of bigoted policy from what it sounds like.

My response was to a quote that said all bigots are Republicans.

They may have the lion share of them, but the have not managed to monopolize the field just yet.

And Harry Reid believes marriage is between a man and a woman, Isn't he like the Senate Majority leader or something?

I don't think conservatism is a problem. I think extremes on either end and pandering to those extremes for the sake of a job are the problems.

Dude. Have you been reading this thread? I am brining up the point that everyone else is talking about "all black people" regarding the usage of "the black vote" and the problem that stems from it (not to mention principled hypocrisy).

You can read, I suggest you start doing so.

And apparently being one guy bringing up a point that isn't part of your liberal circle-jerk chorus on the Bendisboard makes it sad. Oh shit, there goes my eyeballs.

When was the last time modern American conservatism produced anything of positive social or political value? Sincerely.

Brian, you are right. A lion's share, as in 48 to 3.

    That's a subjective call.
