If we went by the Internet Transforners movies would flop, Digital comics would make more than 4% of sales, the new 52 would have flopped and Walking Dead would have been cancelled after 2 episodes.

And putting Watchmen in the DCU proper is dumb on principle because points of the book rely on how these superheroes change the course of history and how their influence gives birth to electric cars and weird cigarettes. Something traditional comics don't do because that goes against the "your world! Our heroes!" motto DC is co-oping from Marvel. Batman and Superman still exist in a world where they probably still have a gas crisis. Hell, Grant is using the recession as a plot point.

Also, really, let's make all these characters who are fetishists and demented in all ages books. And to dumb them down would go against "character" that everyone holds dear probably.
