Marvel's been sending me a lot of trades to review for Wired, so I've been having fun getting acquainted with Deadpool. Some of the trades were awful (Jubilee is a vampire???) and the Ultimates reboot didn't interest me at all but I liked more of the Avengers stuff than I thought I would. And, of course, I got a lot of the Cap stuff, which I loved. (DC should have locked Brubaker down to write Batman forever but...well, i guess then we wouldn't have his Cap run.)

Vampire Jubilee sounds kind of stupid on paper, but I ended up enjoying her arc way more than I expected to.

My DC reading is steadily falling back into the place it was before. I started out buying them all, now I'm back down to about half that, hovering near the 25 mark.

I love that comic soo much. It's quickly making its way into my top 5.

Waid would be wonderful. But given his comments about how editorial screwed up Mary Marvel last year, which were not complimentary about DC editorial in the least (something about old men working out their issues with women), I don't see him getting hired by DC very soon.

That's definitely true.

But I think it's immoral for DC to care about that.

All that should matter for them is the quality of the work, whether it will be delivered on time and the amount of money it would make.

What would his origin be like?

Garth Ennis should be on Superman.

If Waid had been on Superman instead of Perez, he wouldn't need to do anything involving the origin.
