Everything important about that book is in that book already. These can be nice stories but part of being a storyteller is knowing what is important and what isn't and Moore knew that 25 years ago.

we also saw or read what happened to the individuals before watchmen. Moore made sure we got their origin story.
We either saw it through flashback, or read about it in Roarscharch's journal, or read about it in those little bits at the end of each chapter that expanded the Watchmen universe.
so, we already know what happened to them, it's just an excuse to see new artist's take on them.
