    3. Night Watch, Sergei Lukyanenko.
    4. Day Watch, Sergei Lukyanenko.
    5. Twilight Watch, Sergei Lukyanenko.
    6. Last Watch, Sergei Lukyanenko.
    7. A Path To Coldness of Heart, Glen Cook.
    8. The Night Circus, Erin Morgenstern.
    9. The Eyre Affair, Jasper Fforde.
    10. Lost In A Good Book, Jasper Fforde.
    11. Echo: The Complete Edition, Terry Moore.

    13. American Gods: 10th Anniversary Edition, Neil Gaiman.
    14. A Deepness in the Sky, Vernor Vinge.
    15. 1491, Charles Mann.
    16. Just After Sunset, Stephen King.
    17. The Night Eternal, Chuck Hogan and Guillermo Del Toro.
    18. Coraline, Neil Gaiman.
    19. The Duel, Joseph Conrad.
    20. Pride and Prejudice, Jane Austin.
    21. Frankenstein, Mary Shelley.
    22. Full Dark, No Stars, Stephen King.
    23. Pope Joan: A Novel, Donna Woolfolk Jones.
    24. Bind, Torture, Kill, Roy Wenzl, Tim Potter, Hurst Laviana.

    26. The Closing of the Western Mind: The Rise of Faith and the Fall of Reason, Charles Freeman.
    27. After the Prophet, Lesley Hazleton.
    28. The Passage of Power, Robert A. Caro.
    29. The Path to Power, Robert A. Caro. Volume one of Caro's biography of Johnson. Yes, after reading volume four I decided there were too many details that had gotten hazy and started in rereading the whole thing. As I write this, I'm about 1/3 of the way through volume 2. The four volumes are about 3,000 pages, which will radically skew my books-read-per-month numbers. Then again, Charlie Stroess' new Laundry book is supposed to ship next week, so I'll probably take a break from Johnson when it arrives.

Re: 52 Books In 52 Weeks 2012 Board Reading Challenge

In the U.S.A., to celebrate the release of the Ready Player One trade paperback, author Ernest Cline is holding a contest inspired by the plot of his novel. He has hidden an "Easter egg" in the text of both the hardcover and paperback editions of Ready Player One.

    http://www.ernestcline.com/blog/2012...-secret-gates/

If readers can find this hidden clue, it will lead them to the first of three increasingly difficult video game challenges. The first video game challenge is an Atari 2600 game that contains another Easter Egg that will lead you to the Second Challenge. Completing the Second Challenge will lead you to the Third and Final Challenge.

The first person to complete all three of these challenges will win the grand prize, a 1981 DeLorean automobile, complete with a Flux Capacitor! I’ll be driving this DeLorean across the country on my book tour this June, so contestants will have a chance to see the grand prize in person at each of my book signings.

You've got some great taste there, Tom. I loved the Fletch books, and Clarke, Herbert, and Philip K Dick too? Good stuff.

    17. God Save The Child - Robert B. Parker

It was entertaining and I like the main character, Spencer, but parts of it are horribly dated now. Plus, Parker has this irritating habit of having to describe , in detail, what everyone is wearing every time someone shows up or re-enters the story, and since it's the seventies it's all laughably garish and polyester. I'm told the series gets better as it progresses, so I'll probably stick with it. It helps that these are real light, quick reads.
