I've been busy assembling my Bookcases and locating all my books from their scattered locations about the Apartment.
Hopefully I can do an update now of what I've read so far this year. Will check the shelves tonight
For me 'Raylan' felt like two short stories mashed awkwardly together. He changed the characterization of Raylan too, he's more like the TV character now and less like the novel Raylan.
I love most of Elmore Leonards work but the 3 Raylan novels are just not for me.

I was busy finishing up some reading from last year, catching up on some trades, and just doing other things in life during January. So I'm off to a slow start, we'll see if I make it up over the year.
Read: 'Rogues' Gallery:The Secret Story of the Lust, Greed, and Betrayal that Made The Metropolitan Museum of Art' by Michael Gross. The first half dealing with the founding and the original big players like JP Morgan and Rockefeller Jr was far more interesting. Things got bogged down in minutia as it dealt with the second half of it's history. Too much time spent on the back stories of various players. Still, an informative read and it has definitely enhanced my appreciation of the collection, and museum, on subsequent trips to the Met.
Also finally read 'The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo' by Stieg Larsson. I'd started this book a couple of times previously over the last few years, but it just never clicked. Usually I'll finish a book I start, but I just found myself not going back to it. I Finally did and this time I plowed right through. This time it took, for whatever reason, and I really enjoyed the writing. I'll definitely finish the trilogy now.
Reading: 'Nothing To Envy:Ordinary Lives in North Korea' by Barbara Demick.

11. Echo: The Complete Edition by Terry Moore. TPB of all 30 issues of Echo. As always, good storytelling and good artwork. Going into the story knowing that there was going to be a final end seems to have helped Moore focus on the more essential parts. There's some drift at the beginning, but by the 6th or 7th issue it has momentum and never loses it. Nice to see some semi-cameos by SIP regulars, too. At $40 for a 30-issue collection, it's a damned good buy as well. Buy one and keep Moore producing good comics.
1 - The Eye of the World - Robert Jordan

12. The Private Memoirs and Confessions of a Justified Sinner by James Hogg. An interesting but ultimately frustrating book. If it's anything, it's a precautionary tale on the temptations inherent in a belief in predestination. Not particularly recommended.
Whew! Nearly 1/4 of the way to 52, and it's not quite mid-February. I think I'll heave the del Toro over the transom next, just to get it out of the way. But the 10th anniversary edition of American Gods has developed a siren call...
