Now this looks more like it. Magic Mike would never beat Ted.

i'd agree, but 50 million for Ted? that's a lot better than i was expecting. maybe 40 mil tops. 35 mil for Magic Mike is more than i expected too.

i have twitter now. follow for random musing on sports, movies and other stuff.

I've also begun a movie review blog. reviewing both new movies as well as older favorites.

I think that's overly optimistic for Ted based on a 20M opening. It'll fall a bit on Saturday and a lot on Sunday. Still, though, what a hit.

Being the weekend before the fourth of July Ted COULD make 50 mil. Not saying it will just that I would not be surprised if it did.

I am surprised at the Magic Mike numbers as it did not appeal to me at all. Then again I am not the intended demo.

Ted was pretty good. Kinda like a twisted Disney movie. I just KNEW going in that since it was Seth there'd probably be some over the top shit, but I was pleasantly surprised that he kept himself on a leash. It was hilarious without the groan and face smack effect. It was the more subtle things that were the funniest, and the few shock laughs weren't completely overboard. Touche' Seth. Touche'. I'll give it a funny 4/5. I'd see it again with more friends.

Geez...based on those numbers, OFFICE SPACE would open to $100m if it were released today.

In all seriousness, who knows? I never thought Bridesmaids or The Hangover would be as huge as they were.

There's always the one. I just thought comedies were due, but I was still betting on 35 million or so.
