Weapon X wasn't always great, but it had some good moments and really followed what Morrison did a great deal. It did what Morrison intended NXM to do- to start a whole new era of X-Men stories with new and updated characters and plots. The man gave Marvel a gold mine and they got scared of it and ran away. Weapon X actually follows the spirit of NXM a lot more than Astonishing.Originally Posted by DigiEmissary
I can expand on what you said a bit. Cassandra Nova was what the Shi'ar call a "mummudrai." Its a creture that infests the wombs of women and copies the DNA of their unborn children, and then replaces them. Like a twisted fairy legend. Xavier tryed to kill her with his mind in the womb, and she was aborted out of his mother's body. But she managed to live on and eventually gained enough strength to challange him. And she does have the potential of Xavier had he reached for it.
thanks! weapon x started bad, and then got A LOT better.
Yeah it did. But it got fucked up plenty by editorial. After the first so many issues they said that the book needed to focus on heroes instead of villians (which is funny since it was a villian book.) Thats why we got Cable and his band of guys. And then editorial said that they couldn't have Cable anymore because they were going to do Cable/Deadpool. So thats why he just levaes the book for no good reason in two issues. Which left the book with no heroes or villians, so they brough in Wolverine. And then they cancelled it. Its a fucking shame it got mauled so much.Originally Posted by slackerboywonder

The reviews for the first issue are pretty bad. I'm not going to get it, but my friend will and I'll read his copy.Originally Posted by slackerboywonder

This guy could enslave entire planets with his will. He destroyed entire universes just to hurt someone he didn't like. Was killed three times over and STILL came back to haunt those he hated. He could perhaps be a universal manifestation of evil. Luthor and Doom are but the most minute bits of dirt beneath this guy's boots.
I feel remarkably unburdened with the need to explain, justify or defend anything I say, feel or do online to any self-entitled anonymous snarkwit who feels I owe their point of view a form of cogent argument or debate. Life is too short to stress myself arguing with strangers over minutiae. Ya don't like it, ignore me and go read something else. -WinterRose
