Yeah, better take care of that. They'll kick you out of California if it becomes too public. Until then, you're here on probation...like a cultural green card of sorts.

"Cultural Green Card," I like that.

    Mine:
    - Finish losing the last 20 effing pounds.
    - Run a 10k. Without stopping for a beer or other noble excuse.
    - Hike/climb one or more of the following peaks; Mt. San Jacinto, Mt. Gorgonio, Mt. Whitney, Ryan Mountain
    - Hike on the John Muir Trail again.
    - Finish writing the work-related article/essay I've started a million times.
    - Complete the article/essay on Mentalism and fulfill my promise to send it to this writer in England who's been bugging me for the finished version.
    - Write more, including the outdoor blog that is been ignored like a smelly homeless person.
    - Meet up a few folks on this board.
    - Get back into my studio. It is not radioactive and misses me, I am sure.
    - Visit with my PDX family a couple of times. At least.
    - Appreciate more what I can do and what I have in this life. I am so lucky, it hurts my teeth.

    Re: 2012 Resolutions List

    Oooh... nice thread.

I probably have loads of resolutions I should make (and keep!), but right now I can only think of:

    - Write more.
    - Write better.
    - Work smarter. (Otherwise known as: stop procrastinating.)
    - Stop eating so much crap.
    - Exercise. A little. (Cut me some slack - I don't do any exercise at all right now, apart from walking, and me and the boyfriend really need to work on this. We're SPREAADDDING.)
    - Give more time to my family & friends.

Terry, kind of a cross-thread post from the Media Diary, but I've just been listening to the audiobook of Haruki Murakami's What I Talk About When I Talk About Running, and it's got me itching to run again...

My aims for 2012 are many, so I'm going to narrow them down a little, and I want to make them specific, but here are a couple I know already:

    - complete the 100 days of writing 100 words a day *at least* once
    - complete a 24 hour comic as per Scott McCloud's instructions

    (More soon...)

I hate running and am not a 'natural' runner, but I do love that book! Makes me want to run...

Ok, here's my weird and now, it seems, fairly ambitious list:

    - finish the club100 thing at least once (100 words a day for 100 days straight, no breaks, no carrying over totals)
    - once I have completed club100 once, do the best I can to write and/or edit every day, and keep a record of this
    - having completed club100 once, start and complete a variation on the theme where I draw a character a day for 140 days, trying out different styles, techniques, etc.
    - get a portfolio site up and running (I will know the portfolio site is up and running when I have examples of writing, illustration, web work and design on the site and when I have received an inquiry about a commission)
    - start the non-fiction blog that my friend and I keep talking about, and record at least one (test) podcast
    - start and get partway through (not sure how long it will take) a blog where, once a week, I complete a task from Scott McCloud's Making Comics, DC's How To Pencil Comics by Klaus Janson and any other useful how-to-make-comics books
    - complete the Coach Andy's 5km Race program once (it's from the Nike+ app, no particular endorsement of the program, except that I've done it once and liked it)
    - run the City To Surf (or an equivalent length race)
    - be able to walk on my hands
    - dunk
    - try out GTD, which means go through all the prescribed steps in the book, and practice weekly catch ups for a period of ten weeks straight (because I figure that will either get the habit ingrained, or tell me if it's going to work for me)

This is basically a list of projects that I've given myself a deadline for. The deadline is 31 December 2012. No idea if I'll make it.

Changed up the resolution list a little. Adding a new peak, Mt. Adams located near PDX / Seattle area, to the list. Plans are underway and a date has been sent.
