    Re: Back Issue Hunting/Buying/Collecting/Trading Thread

Thanks, man! These are the first comics I've ever owned older than me (I was born in '73). Yeah, MYSTERIOUS SUSPENSE #1 was reprinted in a "Millennium Edition" a few years back but I had to have the original. Only set me back ten bucks.

The Question debuted and ran as a back-up in the 1967 volume of BLUE BEETLE (which only ran 5 issues). Mysterious Suspense was his next appearance followed by Charlton Bullseye vol. 1 #5 (which I don't have) Charlton Bullseye vol. 2 #1, and Americomics Special #1 before DC bought him (along with all of the other Charlton super-heroes) in '83.

Ditko art on most of them, too, which is kinda neat. I've yet to read them but I'm sure, since the Question was a Ditko creation, that they're nutty.

Very, very cool. Definitely interesting books to own!

I have an Alex Toth Question story that you might like, it's from Charlton Bullseye Magazine #5.

The combination of Toth art and how oddball a book it is lured me in.

Again, man - your haul looks great. I don't really ever even see those issues much at dealers or cons!

That's one that I need, actually. I haven't found it for less than $20 so I haven't jumped on it.

Got this today! I've really been looking forward to it, though I have the issues!

Out of print, though I bet that'll soon change. Despite the cover, this has some great issues.

    Spoiler:

    Includes these and more!

Just about anything woulda been better than the cover they went with! Fun book, track it down if ya can.

I dunno, I kinda dig the cover, but I liked Mantis back when she was in the Silver Surfer title way back when, so I think it's cool.

I've never read those issues, but given the covers you posted, I will agree with that. The cover of #131 in particular makes me want to run out and buy the issue in question, even though I just realized I actually do have the Essential Avengers volume that reprints it.

Ah, but color, man. This was $10 total including shipping on eBay!

This was one of the few times Mile High was actually a great deal -- I just ordered 27 random back issues I needed to fill holes or upgrade crappy condition issues. Their 50% code cut the order down to $35 and that allowed me to get 7 of the Free Comic Book Day releases with my order. I'll put up a picture when the order comes in.
