Even if you don't normally root for the bad guys, you'll be wanting Doom to come out on top by the end of the story. It was one of the first comic stories I ever read that made me consider my own ethics and philosophy of the world.
    Wow, nice!

    This thread kicks ass.

    This guy got this stuff!

After waiting for a decade, and then ultimately being disappointed by the HC with its recoloring job, I finally had to get the Flex Mentallo issues!

Found a Captain America: Hail Hydra issue with art by Tom Scioli, the American Barbarian guy! It feels so right!

Marvel Comics Presents, with a Hellcat story with Stuart Immonen art.

Finally got the Tick 20th Anniversary issue - hit n' miss, but some good stuff and even a short story by Ben Edlund. I've had the variant for a while, but haven't been able to get the regular cover until now.

    And another promotional Hulk/Spider-Man issue!

Some Doom Patrol issues with Flex Mentallo appearances.

I'm still slowly working my way through a long Iron Man arc from the 70s with a lot of super-villains. Ahhh.

A What If featuring Master Of Kung-Fu and Fu Manchu.

Secret Wars! This is the book that killed comics for me as a teen. I was getting into girls (literally ) and the Shooter era was turning lame for me. I remember this book boring me like crazy, I think by issue #3 I was gone. But y'know, now it kinda stands out in its absence from my collection. So I'm gonna get a few at a time. Plus I love Mike Zeck, though he's very watered down here for some reason. But lots of heroes, lots of villains, it's kinda my thing so here we are. I'm gonna get a few issues at a time (and probably #8 by itself, 'cuz it's expensive).

And a Hulk vs. Thing issue I'd never seen. This was in the slutty-Sue years. I'm a sucker for Hulk/Thing issues, but this has haircut-and-slacks Hulk, and well, c'mon it's from the 90's so it had a lot going for it. But it had Herb Trimpe art. I'm not the biggest Trimpe fan (I hated him as a kid) but that put me over the top. And of course -- the book sucks. The art is awful, too. But hey. It was a buck.
