I find it amusing that Shooter criticizes other writers for poor characterization, and Avengers #200 is one of the most perfect examples of bad characterization that has ever been done.
That issue is weird as fuck, as in the story decisions are just wacky, but shockingly, it's not actually poorly written, and it's not even close to the worst issue of Avengers that Shooter has been a part of, there are just things that happen that make you go wow. And even with that wow wtf stuff, it's far from the worst issue of Avengers, in all actuality that issue came out a few months before the book really took a huge turn south in quality, and sadly didn't really become really good again for another 16/17 years when Busiek took over, and interestingly enough, that run is extremely reminiscent of pre #200 Avengers stories.

I've been really enjoying this book. It was the perfect thing for those coming off the film. I have no idea what's happening with it after the first arc, but I'm excited to read it.

Oh, and Thunderbolts has really been rocking lately. Just read the Jack the Ripper issue the other day and it was all kinds of awesome. I love how the T-Bolts designs keep changing.

I've enjoyed it immensely too. The writing and art have been great. Not as good as most of Bru's other Cap work, but still great. I don't think it's long for this world though. I believe Bru has already said he's leaving it soon, and I don't see it lasting long unless someone REALLY good manages to capture people's attention.

Thunderbolts has been okay, but I'll be honest. Since Fear Itself the book has been losing my attention fast. I'm not actually enjoying the time travel storyline at all. I'll stick with it a little longer though, because I've been loving the book since the Heroic Age started.
