But if they are doing as well as you say what does it hurt that I am trade waiting?

Because even if 52 books sell out as they have the ones that sell the least are going. Whether it's DC or Marvel or Image. Hell, Last of the Greats was a good series by two talent people who are also 'Gatherers' and because people took a wait and see now they apparently have the series on hold to see if the Trade does sell. And the odds of the Trade selling (single issue fans need to double dip which isn't likely) and new folks who were too disinterested to try a book for 3.50 will likely have a tougher time buying 3 or 4 issues of the same book for 10 bucks.

The Spider-Mans, the Batmans...they're safe. But all these other spinoffs and risk books that people say they want that arent the typical fare offered just end up getting ignored.

A nice thing about comics is that you can often tell from a quick flip through if a book is not for you.

Maybe but mainly in the cases of art or if you're looking for a certain amount of action. There are a ton of books I took a risk on (in the 52 for example or Image) that I wouldn't have bought on a flip through but read the issues and enjoyed them

But really. Chris Sims wrote a very thoughtful review of the MEGAMAN book. They ain't going "Ohh I liked it, but something was off with the storytelling!"

But they won't spend 130 bucks on a book they are buying blindly!!! If they don't like a 14 dollar trade they can probably get their money back for it or it isn't a big deal. FOR A 130 BOOK IT IS MORE OF A WASTE OF MONEY FOR THE NEW READER IF THE NEW READER LIKED MAYBE 4 books.

Good comics but the problem with a list like CA is none of em are really ongoings except DD. They chose 'a' Batman story several minis, a couple ogns. It's a mismosh. It's like if the Academy Awards lumped shorts, docs and all that into one category.

Good point. It's really hard to compare a giant graphic novel like Habibi, which is read in one sitting, to an unfinished ongoing like Daredevil.

I don't think the reviewers finished Habibi yet. They just saw the page count and deemed it best of the year lol
