And I know Lucas is often critical of how his older movies look by today's standards.
Imagine, they could get Ewan MacGreggor to play the older Obi Wan, the lightsaber battles in these three movies could be more epic...etc... etc....

I think he should recast and remake them. That way he can stop fidilling with the origs. This way he can make the movies he wants and get them to look how he wants them to.
Sure fanboys will think they suck but they'll still be Star Wars and they'll Still make a Billion Dollars Each.
I guess this will lead into who should play the roles in the remakes....
They already HAVE been remade, for all intents and purposes.
Every time Lucas releases yet another DVD set, he fucks them up just a little more with his "improvements."
Star Wars is one of the very few franchises where I think the results would be better if taken out of the original creator's hands. Lucas hasn't had a worthwhile new idea in 30 years, and he's just been using his old successes as an ATM card. Whatever creative vision he once had is long gone.
I say leave the Star Wars movies the way they were made, and move on to telling new stories. Imagination, not re-imagination.
