Who's looking forward to Swamp Thing?

I know I am! Awesome story, gorgeous art, and gorgeous looking plant monsters. You had me at New 52.

No interest in the Character, and I really Dislike Paquette's art. So, no.

Have you read Detective Comics or American Vampire by Snyder? Plus Francavilla is the other artist on the book...

Though I doubt that would change your mind.

I've read the First Hardcover of American Vampire. Not bad, but I never really fell in love with it. Never read any of his 'Tec run. Not familiar with Francvilla.

Still no interest in the character, and it takes a lot for me to overlook Paquette's art.

Scott Snyder hasn't blown me away-I might be the only person who's read it who didn't enjoy his Detective Comics run-and I have no real interest in Swamp Thing outside of Alan Moore and Rick Veitch.

Now Animal Man, THAT mother has got my attention.

We need to correct that ASAP. And if you're unfamiliar with Francavilla, well I think that'll really make you stand up and take notice with this book.

Here's a couple pages from his Detective run with Snyder.

    His current Black Panther run

I'm less enthused about this book than Animal Man, but that's only because I still have the bad flavor of Swamp Thing, vol. 4 in my mouth. (You get an artist as talented as Breccia on the book, then squander it on relatively generic stories?) Paquette's art has looked great so far, and Francavilla is generally pretty excellent. That said, Snyder has very big shoes to fill.

Re: Who's looking forward to Swamp Thing?

I love it. I think Snyder is great, and I have no expectations for what a Swamp Thing title should be. I never read Moore's run (though I assume people were raped and there was some meta-textual hijinx) nor any of the others. This is a character that is almost entirely off my radar, and I can't wait to see what he's all about.
Funnybook of the Week - I read 'em, I rank 'em. Based on nothing more than my personal enjoyment.

Twitter Feed - Just as inane as a blog, but shorter.

Oh, yes, yes. It's one of my most-anticipated titles of the new 52.
