still slow in downloading my comics right now but I am guessing because they are taking a server hit but year...big improvement for the user experience.
Vast improvement to the Comixology app this week that really improves the experience. The UI is much cleaner and the app's performance is vastly improved. Categories are easier to browse through, with tile icons for publishers and moved the Find by Creator off the restrictive pop-overs to it's own dedicated screen. Tap a creator and icons of comic books series available are listed.
The Comixology apps have been pretty poor prior to this. The Marvel app has been slow and often non-responsive to indicate to users that it's downloading content, so I've often found myself staring at the screen waiting for the "New" tab to load content.

I missed my stop at the comic store today. I thought, hmmmm.... Why not just go to Comixology? And I did. I picked up the book I was looking for and RASL (#8, 9, 10, and 11). I bought them for $1.99 each. Guess which store did not carry RASL because they thought it would not sell well?
Comic stores may quickly be wiped out.
Marvel and DC may also feel the pinch. Are they going to be able to hold their own when small publishers can have the same shelf space and equal footing? Alan Moore may finally be happy.
Dude. You so are not cut out for internet discussion boards. That lackadaisical, slack-arsed mindset might work "in the real world", but here on the net, small continuity errors and inconsistencies are the things a Jihad is made of. If you can't get spittle-froth at the corners of your mouth over the plot of a TV show, you're just owned.
Have you considered starting a pull file? If they know a fan wants Rasl but don't order it, then they probably do deserve to go out of business.

Interesting article. One thing is certain, however. Publishers are in trouble. They think their problem is that they are losing their retailers. But the real danger is that, over time, they are going to lose their authors as well. No wonder they are afraid of Amazon.http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-1...a-postrel.html http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-1...a-postrel.html

You can't access Comixology offline , can you? Does it cache books you have recently read, or do you always need to be connected to their servers in order to read any of your comics?

I don't know. I read the book on my laptop while connected to the internet.
I think the biggest risk is if the format changes.
One of the services I would like them to consider for old books... bundling. I have read the first 4 volumes of Ex-Machina. Let's say I want to finish the series. Why am I purchasing single issues? Why can't I buy the run for, say, $25?
