Or better yet, con organizers who set up a show in the city they're advertising and not some airport industrial park where quality food isn't exactly a priority?

how about con organizers that actually present a comic book convention and not an autograph show that bills itself as a comic book convention?

The Artist Alley was bigger than SDCC. Comics were well repped... just not with giant DC/Marvel pavilions.

We went to a little strip franchise up there called "Rosatti's".
It was after the con a couple of years ago and we couldn't make it to the get together.
Had our hearts set on pizza though and it was on the way back to the hotel.
GOOD take-out pizza at an incredibly good price. They even threw in free drinks cause we were waiting for it.

Pia, I used to live in the area of the con many years ago, but there are still some great pizza places in the general area. If you come back, I suggest you have pizza delivered from Villa Napoli if you're looking for really good thin crust. If you're in the mood for deep dish/stuffed pizza, then I suggest ordering from Suparossa. They are a chain, but WAY better than any other place in the area, IMO. And their thin crust is not too bad either.

Both pizza places are close enough to the convention center (and surrounding hotels) to deliver. And they're both close enough to drive to as well. Villa Napoli is in Norridge about 2 miles from the con and Suparossa is in Harwood Heights about 3.5 miles away, both on Lawrence Ave.

Why not take the CTA? Driving in chi-town is torture.

Because I'd be a pretty crappy host if I made my guests hump it on the train to get pizza.
