Yeah, that's not hidden when you hover over the thread. I read the story like 30 minutes ago, so I don't care, but just warning you before people flip out on you.
Wait, no. Now it's hidden.
Spoiler:
a win for diversity! but... man, I really wanted Mary Jane
brand new character though... I don't think I'm interested that much. sorry![]()
I dropped my favorite book when I cut all the needless $3.99 titles months ago so I am just curious where this character comes from.

Yes!
Black Spider-Man!
I got what I wanted. New character.![]()
I get this all the time. They say, "You really hate Daredevil. Look how mean you are to Daredevil." I'm like, "Would you really buy a book about him enjoying a sandwich? 'What a great sandwich. I'm going to eat this for 22 pages, and I'm going to be so happy.'" I may do it just to prove a point. Have Wolverine going, "This is the best bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich I've ever had in my life!"

This is retarded. Not just racist... but retarded. To be more specific, promoting a new Ultimate Spider-Man solely on the basis of skin color isn't progressive. It's modern blacksploitation for guilty white liberals. If Nick Fury was the new Spider-Man I'd have been excited, and you could claim that it's progressive in the sense that the character's skin color is irrelevant. Even ultimate Ben Reilly. But to create a new, black Spider-man for the sake of having a black spider-man, promoting it on that basis is idiotic beyond words. The "creative" choice and publicity is entirely race-driven.
Martin Luther King once dreamed of a day where people judged him solely by the content of his character, where race would be irrelevant; not a promotional tool in selling comics to children.
