Let's discuss this!
What's going to happen if this reboot and all the marketing spent on it doesn't end up bringing in the readers it was meant to?
More importantly, what will Warner Bros do?
Edit: Sorry if this ends up being a dupe thread. I barely have time to jump on the board these days.

Won't happen. At the very least, their top franchises are going to get a massive boost. Especially Superman.

They will just ignore the reboot, set the issue numbering back to it's original spot and pretend like nothing happened.
I mean, we haven't seen the story behind this reboot but it feels to me that 75% of it is all marketing and issue numbering anyway. E.g. Killing Joke and all these other classic stories are still canon. It's not as if the DCU is getting a 100% ultimate Marvel universe treatment, even if their marketing department want you to think that.
In three years from now, I wouldn't be too surprised if this reboot has less impact than Crisis on Infinite Earths.

The problem is that DC wouldn't ignore the reboot. They'd have another stupid crossover to set things "right" and instead just create more fucking questions than answers.

Three months from now, we'll all be sitting back saying "Huh, so it was a really just a convoluted way to undo the Lois&Clark marriage."

Nitpick: No matter what, DC will carry this reboot through at least one story arc, i.e. six months at the earliest, before they would even consider turning back. Personally, worst case scenario, my bet is they are going to go full force, guns blazing on this reboot for at least two years.
Best case, daydream scenario (for this DCU fanboy): ...dare I say, if they are willing to completely alienate the current LCS and direct market, paper comic market by setting digital comic prices to $0.99 cents, I think this reboot could turn out to be the biggest (commercially) defining moment in comics since Marvel's uprising in the '60s.
If only there was a DC thread to discuss this in.
It is equal parts smart and stupid. New jumping on point for readers. Trying to get books in the masses' hands. But they may be alienating some fans.
But hey, it is their business and if I don't like the first issues of the books I am interested in, I won't buy anymore.
Why do you still have signatures turned on?
